Add the Right Size Pieces of Compostable Material

The most efficient size to cut your compostable material to is approximately 1 inch cubed, about the size of a standard gum ball. If the pieces are too small, it will create a soup that will prevent enough air from getting into the pile. Adding these gum ball sized pieces of compostable material to your Envirocycle Composter will create more area for microorganisms to grow and break down the material and more room for oxygen to aerate the pile.
